Love the idea of these tree houses in the Auvergne. Not sure it’s strictly camping, but probably more fun than staying in one of the ‘camping’ pods being promoted by the Camping and Caravan Club. Quite like La cabane du pirate, but La cabane du Barde is a lot higher up. Thought I’d might have to brush up my french in order to check these out, but looks I know someone in Normandy that might be offering a similar type of holiday home in the 100 acre grounds of a Chateau near Mont Saint-Michel. Think I’d prefer to be going to stay in one of these in France, than the rather more modernist Ikea-type tree houses in Lapland that the Guardian recently mentioned … as the pine trees look a little too spindly (see below).
